Hark is a social satire about a man promoting his methods of mental archery - a combination of mindfulness, yoga, fake history, and mental archery. Even after reading the book I don't have the faintest clue what mental archery is/5(). This is the second book of her work, after the self-published Never Learn Anything From History last year, but it's much larger (pp vs 68pp), contains a bunch of notes on the comics from Beaton, and is vastly more widely available, so HARK.

book McBain had lost his ear for contemporary speech/5. Hark. is one of the later books in the 87th Precinct series. I had read it a long time ago and reread it on Kindle now that the series is available on Kindle. This is one of the better books and the master is in fine form.

Hark. A Vagrant is an uproarious romp through history and literature seen through the sharp, contemporary lens of New Yorker cartoonist and comics-sensation Kate Beaton. No era or tome emerges unscathbed as Beaton rightly skewers the Western world's revolutionaries, leaders, sycophants, and suffragists while equally honing her wit on the hapless heroes, heroines, and/5.

"Hark. The Herald Angels Sing" is a Christmas carol that first appeared in in the collection Hymns and Sacred Poems. As it is known in the modern era, it features lyrical contributions from Charles Wesley and George Whitefield, two of the founding ministers of Methodism, with music adapted from "Vaterland, in deinen Gauen" by Felix Mendelssohn.

All the hopscotching between characters makes it a diffuse affair: some of the cast and their subplots are more captivating than others, and a few receive /5(7).
